# 2025-02-11 Creativity by living vs Representation An Actor Prepares, Constantin Stanislavski. I’ve just begun reading but this book already appears to be a wellspring of insight on not only acting and directing, but how creativity works in general. I read the part on the differences between acting by “representation” and acting by “living”. The former I think Is going to be replaced by robots, the latter though, since it requires using emotion as it pops up immediately, spontaneously, is uniquely human. We can extend this beyond acting, and apply it to any art form. Drawing by “living”, Writing by “living”. This is my goal, to live whatever medium it is that I choose to inhabit. ![[_SITE/Attached/image.jpg]]
